Ans. Amazon, Flipkart falls under Tertiary sector. It has transformed the system of buying
in big cities in following ways:
(a) Customer now prefers speed up deliveries at their door step. These companies have
significantly shaped customer expectation for faster deliveries.
(b) Given the busy lifestyle of people they don’t prefer to go to market for shopping.
Amazon and Flipkart have made shopping easy. Everything is available and clearly
visible with all the required information on the website. People get everything on
their doorstep.
(c) It saves time and hassle of going to the market.
(ii) How tertiary sector helps in promoting education?
Ans. Tertiary sector is a service provider sector.
(a) Transport is required to go to school which comes under Tertiary sector.
(b) Teachers also comes under tertiary sector
As world is moving towards digitalization, education sector is also becoming digital.
E- books are there, online lectures, presentations are the ways of teaching in a more
effective way. Advanced and effective communication through internet (e-mail, you
tube channels) has facilitated the importance of tertiary sector in promoting education.

3. Why workers in agricultural sector are considered to be underemployed?
Ans. In agriculture, there are more people working than required. So, even if few people are
moved out, production will not be affected. In other words, workers in the agricultural
sector are underemployed.

Ans. Final goods and services are the output of production processes, and demand for these goods
and services is directly determined by consumer need or preference. For example, biscuits,
